What is the Corte optimization program for?

It is for production, for mininizing losses inherent in stock cutting processes when several parts of rectangular or longitudinal shape are to be cut from materials shaped the same. The mathematical algorithm inside Corte will automatically generate, step by step, the critical variants for the optimization until, mostly in short time, the real optimum solution is finally reached.

The procedure to make a cutting plan is quite simple. You have just to introduce the dimensions of the parts and materials and, respectively, the request and availability (optionally requiered) of each part and material. The program will automatically calculate the optimum parts layout for each material used and the way all of them must be cut so that the total waste be minimum.

What advantages would I get by using Corte?

On average, the yield obtained with no automatized optimization is about 80%. That means, for example, in a production that uses 100 sheets, a loss of 20 as waste.
Corte, however, generally can reach yields greater than 95%, which substancially diminishes waste losses like that. To make a production as the above example, in which you needed 100 sheets, you would now need just 85 sheets or less.
So, multiply the number of sheets you saved yourself, which is about 15, by the price of each sheet and you will get your saving expressed in monetary value.
Since Corte can be used free for a month, we suggest you to make a simple test: take an average cutting plan that you have realized already and get the same plan but now optimized with Corte. Then, multiply the number of material units saved by their unit cost. That will give you the money saved in the plan. By knowing the number of times you realize similar plans in a year, you will be able to estimate the total money saved for a year and how that affects your production costs. Since Corte also allows you to realize, exactly and quickly, the minimum amount of material that you would actually need before producing, you will be able to better plan your material purchases, disminishing this way rotation times in your stock.

So, what Corte offers is to make better use of the stock?

That's the raison d'être of Corte, but it will also allow you to:

- Save a lot of time when elaborating cutting plans by analyzing much more variants than those a technician might generate manually.
- Directly obtain some cutting plans, that can be derived from other ones calculated already, when the material (but not parts) format changes.
- Make good use of reusable offcuts from other productions since you can define as many material dimensions as you wish.
- Standardize your cutting documentation with the reports generated by Corte.
- Obtain useful information to manage your stock and calculate production costs.

Which requirenments are needed to operate the program?

The program, although easy to operate (it follows the Windows interface standard), should be used by technicians with some experience in elaborating cutting plans. The online help, accesible in the Help menu, incorporates a complete user manual with an exhaustive explanation of all the options and characteristics of the program.

Is Corte protected against illegal copying?

Yes, Corte is protected against illegal copying. You can test it free for a time to evaluate its factibility and advantages. Once expired that time, the program will stop working until you register it properly.
Each installed copy has a unique ID that you should send us if you decide to buy our product. Then, we will assign you a licence number which will be also your registration key. The registration key for a particular machine will not work for other installations.

What time may the program spend calculating a cutting plan?

That depends on:

- Both processing time and RAM memory of your computer.

- The number of different part types.

- Whether you optimize bars (less time) or sheets (more time).

- The existence of parts too small in relation to material dimensions.

- The optimization level.

Normally calculation should consume a few seconds or maybe minutes, but it could take much longer in cutting plans having a lot of parts (more than 40). In that cases, Corte has options to automatically shut down the system and keep the solution at the end of the calculation process. So, you can leave the computer calculating and go home. Corte will shut down for you once finished.

Does Corte include CNC outputs?

Corte does not generate CNC code in its current version, but does offer several reports, like the Listing By Coordinates, from which CNC code generation is straightforward. Moreover, those reports can be exported to text format to be processed by other programs.

Does Corte have an evaluative version?

Yes, you can download it from the Downloads section of our WEB site.
The demo version has almost the same functionality as the complete version but limited to 30 days of free usage.

How can I get the ID number of my installed copy?

That number is unique to each installed copy. It can be read at the bottom of the About Corte window which is always showed at program startup whether it is in demo mode. You can also show this window from the Help menu.
